Ventilation

The air at the rear wall of the appliance gets warm. Therefore sufficient space must be provided around the appliance for ventilation.

A ventilation gap of at least 1 1/2"

(38 mm) must be provided behind the appliance.

The air intake to the appliance is made through the base of the installation niche. The ventilation cross-section must be at least 78 3/4 in2 (200 cm2) to ensure that the warm air can escape without obstruction.

The air intake and outlet must not be blocked or covered in any way. They also need to be dusted/cleaned on a regular basis.

Before installation

^Remove the cover strip, the sealing strip and other accessories from the inside and from the exterior rear wall of the appliance.

^Do not remove the spacers from the rear wall of the appliance. They ensure that there is enough space between the rear wall of the appliance and the wall.

^Remove the cable clips from the rear of the appliance.

^Check that all the parts on the rear the appliance can move freely. Bend any parts carefully if needed.

Did the old appliance have a different hinge system?

Even if your old appliance had a different hinge system you can still use a custom door panel.

^Un-install the old hinges; they are no longer necessary, the custom door panel will be mounted on the appliance door.

All necessary parts are included with the appliance or can be ordered from Miele.
