Modifying Driver Properties

Note: The driver properties can be modified only during the driver software installation. If you want to modify these properties after the driver has already installed, you must first remove the driver, and then reinstall it.

1.Repeat steps 1–9 from the above procedure.

2.In the Board Ga621_1 (Driver Ga621) Actions dialog box, click Select/Modify driver parameters and protocols.

3.Use the Tab and Arrow keys to move the cursor to GA621_1 Parameters dialog box, where you can change driver parameters. Refer to Table 6-3 for help in con- figuring these parameters.

Slot Number

Supported values: any decimal number with a maximum length of 8 figures.

 

Select the slot number that corresponds to the expansion slot where the board

 

is installed.

 

Caution: If this parameter is not correctly supplied and there is more than one

 

card installed in the server, the installation program may crash the system.

 

 

Node Address

Supported values: any hexadecimal number (digits 0 to F allowed) with a

 

maximum length of 12 figures.

 

DO NOT change this address unless you are prepared to administer local

 

addresses according to IEEE 802.2 specifications.The driver defaults to the

 

node address on the board (whether factory-set or manually set).

 

 

Receive Buffer Count

Supported values: 80–600. Default value: 600

 

This is the number of receive descriptors to use.

 

 

Transmit Buffer Count

Supported values: 200-600. Default value: 600

 

This is the number of transmit descriptors to use.
