AISO Sensitivity (P, S, A, and M Modes)

When an “auto” option is selected for ISO sensitivity (0 175), the camera will automatically adjust sensitivity within the selected range if optimal exposure can not be achieved at the selected shutter speed or aperture.

❚❚Long Time-Exposures (M Mode Only)

Select a shutter speed of “Bulb” for long time-exposures of moving lights, the stars, night scenery, or fireworks. The shutter remains open while the shutter- release button is held down. To prevent blur, use a tripod.

1 Ready the camera.

Mount the camera on a tripod or place it on a stable, level sur- face. To prevent loss of power before the exposure is com- plete, use a fully charged EN-EL22 battery or an optional EH-5b AC adapter and EP-5E power connector. Note that noise (bright spots, randomly-spaced bright pixels, or fog) may be present in long exposures; before shooting, choose On for Long exposure NR in the shooting menu (0 153).
