Step 1—Rotate the Mode Dial to

Rotate the mode dial to . In this automatic, “point-and-shoot” mode, the majority of settings are controlled by the camera in response to shooting conditions, making it ideal for ﬁrst-time users of digital SLR cameras.

Step 2—Ready the Camera

Before taking photographs, ready the camera as described below.

2.1 Turn the camera on

The control panel will turn on and the display in the viewﬁnder will light.

2.2 Check the battery level

Check the battery level in the viewﬁnder or control panel.
