Using the Zoom

When you move the zoom control, the zoom lens position changes.

•To zoom in closer to the subject: Move toward g(telephoto)

•To zoom out and view a larger area: Move toward f(wide-angle)

When you turn the camera on, the zoom moves to the maximum wide-angle position.

•A zoom indicator is displayed at the top of the monitor when the zoom control is moved.

•Digital zoom, which allows you to further magnify the subject up to approximately 4× the maximum optical

zoom ratio, can be activated by moving and holding the zoom control toward gwhen the camera is zoomed in to the maximum optical zoom position.

press the shutter-release button lightly (halfway) until you feel a

slight resistance. Focus and exposure remain locked while the
