The standby mode

The standby mode is home base and indicates your phone is in idle mode.

Signal strength (1)—A higher bar indicates a stronger network signal.

Battery level (2)—A higher bar indicates more power in the battery.

Menu (3)—Press the Left selection key to select this option.

Contacts or Go to (4)—Press the Right selection key to select this option.

Quick keys

At the standby mode, the Four-way scroll key instantly takes you to frequently-accessed menus:

Scroll up key—View contacts.

Scroll right key—View the calendar.

Scroll down key—View contacts.

Scroll left key—Write a text message.

Indicators and icons

Depending on your wireless service provider, your phone may support

some of the following indicators and icons:

You have new text or picture messages. See Read and reply, 16.

You have new multimedia messages. See Multimedia messages, 19.

You have attached a picture to a text or multimedia message. See Options, 20 and Options, 21.

You have new voice messages. See Voice messages, 24.

Your phone’s keypad is locked. See Keyguard, 11.

Your phone is set to the Silent profile. See Profiles, 44.

The alarm clock is On. See Alarm clock, 35.

The countdown timer is running. See Countdown timer, 40.

The stopwatch timer is running in the background. See Stopwatch, 41.

Integrated hands-free speaker is active. See Using the loudspeaker, 10.

The timed profile is selected. See Profiles, 44.

or An enhancement is connected to the phone. See Enhancement settings, 52.

or Voice privacy encryption is active (or is not active) in the network. See Voice privacy, 55.
