11 Manage phone security

Your phone is equipped with different security features that allow you to do the following:

•Avoid making accidental calls

•Prevent unauthorized use of your phone

•Restrict outgoing or incoming calls

•LOCK THE KEYPAD (KEYGUARD)

The keypad lock (Keyguard) disables your keypad to prevent accidental key presses (for example, when your phone is in a purse).

Note: When Keyguard is on, calls may be possible to emergency numbers (for example, 911 or other official emergency number). However, one-key emergency dialing does not operate. Key in the emergency number and press . The number is displayed only after you have keyed in its last digit.

Manual Keyguard

•To lock the keys, press Menu, then .

•To unlock the keys, press Unlock, then .

If the phone rings with Keyguard on, press to answer the call.
