kClose-up

Q

Use to photograph flowers, insects and other small objects at close range.

Macro mode (A 35) will be turned on and the camera automatically zooms to the position at the closest distance at which the camera can focus.

The closest distance at which the camera can focus varies

depending on the zoom position. At the zoom position (wide angle position before the Gicon) where the Ficon and zoom display glow green, the camera can focus on subjects as close as 4 cm (1.6 in.) from the lens. At the wide-most zoom position, the camera can focus on subjects as close as 2 cm (0.8 in.) from the lens.

AF area mode is set to Manual. Press the k button to choose the focus area in which focus is acquired. (A 104).

The camera focuses continuously until focus is locked by pressing the shutter-release button halfway.

As pictures are easily affected by camera shake, be sure that Vibration reduction (A 125) is enabled and hold the camera steadily.

S640 specifications

Nortel Networks S640, a notable member of the Nortel product line, offers a comprehensive solution for enterprises requiring high-performance network equipment. Known for its reliability and extensive features, the S640 has gained traction in various industries, addressing the demand for robust telecommunications and data networking.

One of the primary characteristics of the S640 is its advanced switching capabilities. It operates at Layer 2 and Layer 3, making it suitable for diverse network topologies. The switch is capable of managing a high volume of data traffic efficiently due to its scalability, accommodating growing network needs without compromising performance.

The S640 is equipped with Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology, which simplifies the deployment of connected devices like IP cameras and VoIP phones. This feature not only reduces the need for separate power supplies but also enhances installation flexibility.

Another vital feature of the S640 is its support for Quality of Service (QoS). This functionality ensures that critical applications receive priority over less essential traffic, leading to improved performance for services such as voice and video over the network. QoS management is especially crucial in business environments where it is necessary to maintain operational efficiency and user satisfaction.

Security is paramount in modern networks, and the S640 addresses this with a range of integrated security features. It supports advanced authentication mechanisms such as IEEE 802.1X, ensuring that only authorized devices can access the network. Additionally, features like virtual LAN (VLAN) support help isolate different segments of network traffic, bolstering security and management capabilities.

The S640 also emphasizes energy efficiency, making it an environmentally friendly option for enterprises concerned about their carbon footprint. Nortel has designed this equipment to meet various energy standards, reducing consumption while delivering optimal performance.

In summary, the Nortel Networks S640 stands out in the crowded networking market through its powerful switching capabilities, support for PoE and QoS, robust security features, and commitment to energy efficiency. This combination of characteristics makes it an ideal choice for enterprises looking to upgrade their networking infrastructure to meet contemporary demands. With its reliable performance and versatile functionalities, the S640 continues to be a significant asset in the evolution of network technology.
