D.Local Port Setup

This screen (see Figure 10) contains settings for configuring the LAN (4-port switch) side of the product, where your PCs are connected. You can set to distribute IP address to local PCs or not. If “Distribute IP address to local computer” is selected, users can enter the starting IP address for the group of attached PCs. The number of IP address decides the total number of clients allowed.

NOTE: All the PCs on the same LAN (switch) should use the same subnet Mask.

Users can also set Static DHCP in this page. Users are allowed to set 32 Static DHCP. Using this feature, the device will assign the same IP address to a computer (according to the network adapter’s MAC address) and this computer becomes the only one able to request that IP address. This is useful for support of virtual servers which require fixed IP addresses for outside Internet access.
