Connecting the Power/ Turning on the DVD Receiver

Before connecting

Make sure that all the connections from pages 18 to 25 are complete (the connection to the TV is required).

Turning on the DVD Receiver may cause a momentary power surge, which might interfere with other electrical equipment such as computers. If this happens, use a wall outlet on a different circuit.

Connect the power cord to the AC
INLET of the DVD Receiver.

Connect the power cord to a wall

outlet.

The DVD Receiver enters the standby mode and the STANDBY indicator lights up.

Setting the Clock Display

To display the clock while in Standby mode, hold down the STANDBY/ON button for at least 2 seconds when switching from On to Standby mode.

Note

Displaying the clock in Standby mode consumes the same amount of power as in the On mode.

Press STANDBY/ON on the DVD Receiver or ON on the remote controller to turn on the DVD Receiver.

The light and display on the DVD Receiver’s front panel light. At the same time, the STANDBY indicator goes off and the ON indicator lights up.

To put the DVD Receiver in the standby mode, press STANDBY/ON on the DVD Receiver, or STANDBY on the remote controller. Be sure to set the volume to minimum before putting the DVD Receiver in the standby mode for the next use to avoid sudden loud sound reproduction.

While in the STANDBY mode, the DVD Receiver can receive signals from the remote controller.

Setting the STANDBY button on the remote controller to standby does not shut off the power completely.
