PRESET MEMORY

FM Auto Preset Memory

This function enables you to store the frequencies into memory automatically, without having to go through and store each frequency manually.

1

Select the station you wish to
name.

See “Selecting preset stations” on page 39.

1

Hold down

Hold down the PRESET MEMORY button for a few seconds. “AUTO MEM” will start flashing on the display. Keep holding down the button for a few more seconds to start the Auto Memory function.

The frequencies are scanned from low to high. Up to 20 FM stations with the best signal quality are selected, sorted in order from low to high frequency, and stored into the preset memory. Even if you have already preset more than 10 AM stations, you can only store up to 30 AM/FM stations total.

2

Press the DISPLAY button on the
remote controller for at least 2

DISPLAY

seconds.

The DVD Receiver enters character input mode, “NAME IN” appears on the display, then “.....” flashes on the display.

«

3

Use the Cursor 5/buttons to
select a character and press the

ENTER button to store the character.

Note

All FM stations previously stored in memory will be replaced with new Auto Memory stations.

Naming a Preset Station

You can name the preset stations so that the name, instead of the frequency, appears on the display when you select the station. The following 54 characters can be used:

_ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQUSTUVWXYZ” ’&()[ ]*+,-./ =?0123456789

Note

You cannot enter characters for an RDS station that has a program service (PS) name, since the PS name has priority over other character information (For more information on RDS stations, see page 39).

RDS reception is available only on the European models.

Flashing “.....” mark appears next to the stored

character.

Repeat step 3 to store more characters. You can enter characters in any positon by moving the cursor with the Cursor 2/3 button. You can store up to 8 characters.

When 8 characters have been entered,

“COMPLETE” appears on the display. To enter less than 8 characters, press ENTER repeatedly to move the cursor to the end, or hold down the DISPLAY button for more than 2 seconds.

Tip

To change an entered name, follow the steps above. In step 3, use the Left/Right Cursor buttons 2/3 to select the name you want to change. Change the letters of the name one at a time. To delete a letter, select the blank space (_). You cannot delete the whole name at once.
