SAVORY BAKED APPLESMakes 6 to 8 Servings
6 to 8 apples, cored 1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup raisins 1/2 Tbsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped nuts 1 cup water
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1. Remove 1 inch peel around top of each cored apple. Place apples in skillet.
2. Fill each center with raisin and nut mixture and dot with butter or margarine.
Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples.
3. Add water to skillet. Cover with vent closed, set control at 300°F
and bring water to a boil.
4. Reduce heat to “Simmer.” Cook apples until tender for 30 to 35 minutes.
Baste with syrup occasionally.
MOVIE POPCORN1 cup vegetable or corn oil 1 cup popping corn, salt to taste
1. Preheat skillet to 325°F.
2. Add oil and popcorn, and close cover.
3. Cook for 3-5 minutes or until popping stops.
4. Salt to taste.
CARAMEL POPCORN
1 cup un-popped popcorn (approximately 16 cups popped corn)
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
2/3 cup margarine or butter
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1. Prepared popped popcorn according to Movie Popcorn recipe above.
2. Set aside. Butter the sides of the Electric Skillet.
3. Preheat skillet to 350°F.
4. Combine brown sugar, margarine or butter, and corn syrup.
Bring to a boil, then add vanilla.
5. Cook for 4 minutes. Add popcorn and stir gently to coat.
6. Cool completely before serving.
