Settings for connecting with the remote cameras and switcher (continued)

When introducing additional remote cameras or a switcher into an environment in which IP connections are already in use

The settings can be configured using auto IP setting even when introducing additional remote cameras or a switcher into an environment in which IP connections are already in use.

There are the following two methods.

1.Automatically changing the IP address set on the additional device to be introduced from the unit

2.Leaving the IP addresses of the additional devices to be introduced unchanged and automatically updating the connection destination IP addresses set on the unit

<Overview of operation>

The link settings can be configured by executing “RENEW IP ADR” in AUTO IP menu [37].

With “RENEW IP ADR”, the unit first searches within the same subnet mask. Then, links are set between the newly detected remote cameras and camera numbers for which the connection type is set to “NoAsign” on the unit.

At that time, the IP addresses of the remote cameras are overwritten with the connection destination IP address values set on the unit. Likewise, when a new switcher is detected while the connection type for the switcher is set to “NoAsign” on the unit, the link setting is configured by overwriting the IP address of the detected switcher with the connection destination IP address value set on the unit.

Example:

(1)Operation is being performed with the three remote cameras A, B and C set to CAM1, CAM2 and CAM3, respectively.

(2)The new remote camera D (with the following IP address value) is added.

Remote camera D : 192.168.000.010

(3)Connection types set on the unit (CTRL TYPE menu [36]) CAM1 : Network

CAM2 : Network

CAM3 : Network

CAM4 : NoAsign

(4)Connection destination IP address set on the unit (MANUAL IP menu [39])

CAM4 : 192.168.000.013

When “RENEW IP ADR” is executed in this state, the IP address of remote camera D is overwritten with the following value, and a link is set to the camera number CAM4.

Remote camera D : 192.168.000.013

zzThe subnet mask, default gateway, and port number settings are set to the same as those for the unit.

zzWhen you connect a remote camera for which the IP address has been changed using a personal computer or other device after a link was set to the unit with auto IP setting and then execute “RENEW IP ADR”, the same IP address as was set when auto IP setting was executed the first time is set again for the corresponding camera.

<Operating procedure>

1.Connect the additional remote cameras and switcher to be introduced and the unit to the network within the same subnet.

2.Open AUTO IP menu [37], turn the F2 dial to display “RENEW IP ADR” and press the F2 dial.

1.AUTO SET RENEW IP ADR

Both the number of devices (all remote cameras and the switcher) currently being managed by the unit and the number of new devices detected are displayed on the LCD panel.
