SD Memory Card/MultiMedia Card
Remove the labels on the card / Attach other labels or seals to the card
zDo not leave the card in the following locations:
Locations that can become very hot, such as inside a car that can become hot, or in
direct sunlight.
Dusty locations or locations that are very humid.
Locations subject to corrosive gas, etc.

When logging on to Windows/ resuming from standby or

hibernation mode

zDo not remove or insert the SD memory card until Windows has completed loading.
zAfter resuming from standby or hibernation mode, do not access the SD memory card for
about 30 seconds.

Protecting important data

zSet the write-protect switch (A) to the LOCK position. Unlock the switch when you want to
record (checkout), edit, or save data.
zUse an oil-base felt-tip pen to write in the memo area (B) on the card. Do not use a pencil
or ball-point pen. Doing so can damage the card body or destroy data stored in the card.
zDo not remove the card or turn off the device in the following cases. Doing so can destroy
data stored in the card.
While data is being read from the card
While data is being written to the card, or for a short time after the wr iting operation
While the SD memory card indicator ( ) is lit

zWe recommend backing up important data to another storage medium.
zWhen disposing of cards, we recommend that you physically destroy the card (for
example, using a hammer) to prevent personal or confidential data from being leaked.

MultiMedia Card (MMC)

The MultiMedia card can be used in ways such as the following.
zStoring files, etc.
zUse to exchange data with devices equipped with a MultiMedia card slot.
