When connecting to the IN2/DV input terminals on the front of the unit

You can also connect to the IN1 input terminals on the rear of the unit.

Before connecting any cables, first make sure that the power for the unit and the external device are off. Then, after connecting cables, turn on both.

If the audio output of the other equipment is monaural

Connect to L/MONO. (Both left and right channels are recorded when connected through L/MONO.)

The S-VIDEO terminal achieves a more vivid picture than the VIDEO terminal.

Insert a video cassette with an accidental erasure prevention tab.

Press [CH, W, X] or [INPUT SELECT] to select the input channel for the equipment you have connected.

Select IN1, IN2 or DV.

For VHS, the “DV” channel can be selected however it cannot be recorded.

Press [;, PAUSE] to pause recording. (Press again to restart recording.)

To stop recording

Press [, STOP].

Note

When recording using the unit’s input terminals, only the sound received at the time of recording will be recorded. As long as secondary audio that is recorded on the media in the external device is not output to the unit in play, it is not recorded.

When recording using IN1 or IN2 terminals, only the sound received at the time of recording will be recorded.

For your reference

Almost all videos and DVD software on sale have been treated to prevent illegal copying. Such software cannot be recorded.
