Messages
Youcan receive, display, edit and/or send short text
messages,of up to 160 characters.
Beforeyou can send a message you must enter the
MessageCentre number into the Parameters. Your
ServiceProvider will supply the Message Centre
number.
Whennew messages are received, the message
indicator(N) flashes and they are automatically stored in
themessage area of your SIM. When all the messages
areread, the Ndisappears. If the message area is full
theNlights and a new message will be rejected. To
receivenew messages you will have to erase unwanted
messages.
Receivedmessages will be stored in the Receive List.
Flashing“•” will indicate unread messages. Once the
messageis selected, you can read, delete, edit and
reply.With the word “Sender” displayed or a telephone
numberin quotation marks (” “), pressing Ddials the
telephonenumber or pressing Astores the telephone
numberin the Phonebook.
Whena message has been sent or edited it will be
storedin the Send List.
Createwill create a new message and send or store it in
theSend List.
Reviewallows you to review how much of the message
areais available.

Parameters

TheParameters are necessary for receiving or sending
messages.
AutoDelete will erase messages automatically. When
“Rcvd(Received) Read” is selected, a new message will
overwritethe oldest read message. When “Rcvd
(Received)Any” is selected, a new message will
overwritethe oldest message even though it may not
havebeen read.
Lifetimeis the duration that your message is stored at the
MessageCentre. Delivery attempts will be repeated until
themessage has been delivered or the Life Time
expires.
TheMessage Centre is where messages are sent before
theyare forwarded on to their destination. The Message
