REPLAYING AN ALARM OR EVENT

You can “replay” the system’s response to an alarm by clicking the alarm entry in the Session Manager activities list. This causes one of the scripts
defined by the system administrator to run. You can replay an alarm as many times as you want, no matter what the alarm’s status. Each time you
replay the alarm, an entry recording the replay appears in the Session Manager. The entry displays in the alarm color.
Operator replays do not do any of the following things:
Change the icon color
Change the icon animation
Play the alarm sound
Require acknowledgement
Replaying an alarm runs the replay script on your workstation only. It does not affect the workstation of other operators.

ACKNOWLEDGING AN ALARM OR EVENT

If an alarm requires acknowledgement, the alarm entry in the Session Manager remains active until it has been acknowledged. Only one operator
needs to respond to an alarm. If several operators are notified, the alarm is considered acknowledged once the system receives acknowledgement
from any one of the recipients.
Depending on how the system administrator has defined an alarm, you acknowledge the alarm either by responding to a custom prompt that
appears on your workstation, or by using one of the acknowledgement tools provided by the Session Manager.
To acknowledge an alarm using Session Manager tools, use one of the following methods:
Highlight the alarm entry in the activities list and click the Acknowledge button or Acknowledge with Comment button on the Session
Manager tool bar.
Right-click the alarm icon and select Acknowledge or Acknowledge with Comment from the pop-up menu. If the alarm has been triggered
more than once in quick succession, creating multiple entries in the Session Manager, this acknowledges every instance of the alarm.
Click the Acknowledge All button on the Session Manager tool bar. This acknowledges all alarms that do not require a comment.
If the alarm requires a comment, a window will open to allow you to type in your comment.
When an alarm is acknowledged, the following events occur:
The entry in the Session Manager and the alarm icon change back to the default color to indicate the alarm has been handled.
If the system administrator has defined an acknowledgement script, it runs.

WHEN AN ALARM OR EVENT BECOMES COMPLETE

Once an alarm has been acknowledged and its scripts have finished running, the status of the entry in the Session Manager is set to Complete.
When an alarm or event becomes complete, the following events occur:
If the alarm did not require acknowledgement, its entry in the Session Manager and the alarm icon change back to the default color.
The entry for the alarm is no longer highlighted.
The highest active entry in the activities list becomes highlighted. Exactly which entry this is depends on how the activities are sorted.
