Appendix: Adjusting the Display

ADJUSTING DOCKABLE WINDOWS

The Device List window and the Session Manager window are the only two dockable windows in the VMX300(-E) client. When docked, they are
locked in place at an edge of the Main window. When undocked, they can be moved about freely on the screen.
NOTE: To undock a window, you must belong to, and be logged in under, a user group that allows you to edit workspaces. Refer to Editing a
Workspace for information on undocking windows.

ADJUSTING THE SIZE OF A DOCKED WINDOW

When a window is docked, you can only adjust its size along one dimension. To adjust the size of a docked window, position the pointer over the
window’s inside border. When the pointer changes to a double-headed resizing pointer, drag the border at right angles to the window’s border.
As you change the size of the docked window, other docked windows and the Main window automatically adjust to fill the available space.

DOCKING A WINDOW IN A DIFFERENT POSITION

If you have a workspace opened, docking is controlled through the workspace. Refer to Editing a Workspace for more information.
If you are not working with a workspace file, the Device List window and Session Manager window are automatically docked. You can dock them
on a different edge of the Main window as follows:
1. Click the title bar of the window you want to move and hold the mouse key down.
2. Drag the pointer to the edge of the Main window where you want to move the window. A gray rectangle snaps to the edge of the Main
window.
3. Release the mouse button. The window is docked in the space defined by the gray rectangle.

CLOSING A WINDOW

To close a window, click the Close button in the right corner of the window’s title bar, or clear the window’s name in the View menu. When you
close a window, the map viewport expands to take up the available space.
To re-open a window, click its name in the View menu. The window will re-open in the same size and location as when it was closed.

RESIZING A WINDOW

Most undocked windows can be resized, including the Main window and custom windows.
You cannot resize a window when it is maximized, that is, when it fills the entire screen. If you want to resize a window that is maximized, first
reduce it by clicking the Restore Down button in the right corner of the window’s title bar or double-click the title bar.
Change the width: Point to the left or right window border. When the pointer changes into a horizontal double-headed arrow, drag the
border to the right or left.
Change the height: Point to the top or bottom window border. When the pointer changes into a vertical double-headed arrow, drag the
border up or down.
Change the width and height simultaneously: Point to a corner of the window border. When the pointer changes into a diagonal
double-headed arrow, drag the border in any direction.
NOTE: If the cursor does not change when it is positioned over a window border, then that window cannot be resized.

REPOSITIONING A WINDOW

To reposition a window, it must not be maximized, it must be undocked, and it cannot be locked in position by the workspace.
1. Position the pointer over the window’s title bar.
2. Click the left mouse button and hold it down.
3. Drag the window to the desired location.
