To view a remote workstation (PC) in a custom window complete the following steps:
1. Change the window mode to Remote PC. Refer to Custom Window Pop-up Menu for instructions. The Remote PC tool bar appears in the
window’s control bar.
2. Select a remote desktop from the Remote Desktop Name drop-down list. Alternatively, type the workstation’s IP address, or, for a
workstation on the same local area network, the workstation name. The selected desktop name appears in the Remote Desktop Name box.
3. Connect: Click the Connect button or press Enter. The Remote Desktop Log On dialog box opens.

4. Password: Type the password and click OK. The password is set on the remote desktop server. Refer to Remote Desktop Servers for
instructions on setting the password. The Remote Desktop Log On dialog box closes and the remote desktop appears in the custom
window’s display area.
NOTE: When the remote PC server is started, the Windows desktop wallpaper (if any) is turned off to minimize bandwidth. The resulting
Windows background (plain black or blue) will be visible when the PC is viewed remotely from the VMX300(-E).

The pointer appears as a small square. As well, the remote workstation’s pointer appears, in whatever form it has on the remote
workstation. There is a delay between the position of the small square pointer and the remote workstation’s pointer. The small square
pointer indicates the true position and should be used when performing an operation on the remote desktop.
5. Disconnect: To disconnect from the remote workstation, click the Disconnect button or change the window mode. You are logged off and
the remote desktop disappears from the display area.
