Changing the Focusing Area

You can change the autofocus area (Focusing Area).

Focusing Area

Multi

This is the default setting with the camera checking several points over a

larger area of the image ensuring that the main subject is in focus.

 

Spot

The camera only focuses on a small area in the center of the screen, this is

ideal for precise focusing on a specific point of the subject.

 

1 Press the MENU button in Capture mode.

4 TakingPictures

The [A Rec. Mode] menu appears.

2 Use the four-way controller (23) to select [Focusing Area].

3 Use the four-way controller (45) to change the setting.

4 Press the OK button.

The camera is ready to take the picture.

When the shutter release button is pressed while [Multi] is selected for the focusing area, the focus frame lights at the focus position.

Always check the focusing area on the LCD monitor when using the autofocus area to focus on your subject.
