Installing the Battery

Install the battery provided. When using the camera for the first time, charge the battery before installing.

zSlide the battery chamber cover release lever in the direction indicated by the arrow to open the battery chamber cover.

xInsert the battery with the label towards back of camera .cClose the battery chamber cover.

If you intend to use the camera continuously for a long period, use

of the AC adapter D-AC2 (optional) is recommended. ( p.13)

Caution • Be sure to use the D-LI2 rechargeable lithium ion battery provided for this camera. If you use any other battery the camera may be damaged or malfunction.

•Do not open the battery chamber cover or remove the bat- tery when the camera is turned on.

•If you do not intend to use the camera for a long time, remove the battery.

•If the camera is left without the battery for a long time, the date setting will be reset.

•Insert the battery correctly. If the battery is incorrectly ori- ented, it may cause malfunction.
