Playing a cassette

aPuta cassette into the cassette slot.
bPressthe PLAYGbutton.
EIfyou press the STOPhbutton once, the TV-VIDEO
Combiwill switch to pause. To stop, press the STOPh
buttonagain.
EToeject the cassette, press the ?buttonon the
TV-VIDEOCombi or press the STOPhbutton on the
remotecontrol several seconds.
DBeforetransportation, make sure that no cassette is
inthe TV-VIDEO Combi.
DIfyou insert an erase protectedcassette, the
TV-VIDEOCombi will automatically start playback.
DSomehired cassettes may have poor picture or
soundquality. This is not a fault in your machine.
Pleaseread ’Eliminating picture interference’.
DSomefunctions will automatically switch off aftera
while(for example, pause, still picture, picture
search).This helps to protect the cassette and
avoidswasting power.

Playing an NTSC cassette

Withthis set you can play cassettes that have been recorded
onanother video recorder in the NTSC standard (for example,
Americancassettes).
DSomespecial features (for example, still picture) are not
possiblewhile you are playing an NTSC cassette.

Tape position indication

DPressthe OK buttonto display the current tape position.
DTochange the type of tape position display, proceed as
follows:
aDuringplayback, press the MENUbutton.
bSelectthe line ’Tape’ with the menubuttons BPror
APqandconfirm with the SqC button.
cSelectthe line ’Tape counter’ withthe menu
buttons BPror APq.
dWiththe menu buttons DSr or SqC select
’USED’to check the time used, or ’LEFT’ to check the
timeleft on the tape.
eConfirmwith the OK button.

Searching for tape position with the picture

(picture search)

aWhilea cassette is playing, press the H(reverse)or
I(forward)button once or several times.
bTostop at a certain picture, press the PLAYGbutton.
DDuringpicture search, the picture quality may not be
sogood and there will be no sound.

Still picture

aPressthe STILLRbutton. A still picture will appear on
thescreen.
bEachtime you press STILLRagain, the picture will
moveon one step.

Searching for tape position without the

picture (wind and rewind)

aStopthe tape with the STOPhbutton.
bPressthe H(reverse)or I(forward)button.
cTostop at a certain picture, press the STOPhbutton.

Instant View

Withthis function you can switch to picture search during
windand rewind.
aIfyou hold the H(rewind)or I(wind)button
duringwind or rewind, you will switch to picture search.
bWhenyou release the button, the TV-VIDEO Combi will
automaticallyswitch back to rewind or wind.

Automatic search for a tape position (index

search)

Atthe start of each recording, the TV-VIDEO Combi will write
anindex code on the tape.
aPressthe INDEXEbutton.Press the Ibuttonto
selectthe next code mark or the Hbuttonfor the
previouscode mark.
bWhenthe TV-VIDEO Combi finds the code mark, it will
automaticallyswitch to play.
