30 Speaker Settings

You can adjust the delay times and volume of the speakers connected to the DVD Receiver. These adjustments let you optimize the sound accord- ing to your surroundings and setup.

	While playback is stopped, press SYSTEM MENU. Press ;
1 or - to select the		icon.			1,5
2 Press 9 repeatedly to select z, then press :.
3	Press 9 to select CENTER DELAY, REAR DELAY, or
	TEST TONE, then press :.
	● Choose CENTER DELAY if
	your listening position is closer
	to the Center speaker than the		DIGITAL OUTPUT
	Front (Left & Right) speakers.		NIGHT MODE
	Reset the Center speaker delay		CENTER DELAY
	time (CENTER DELAY) to		REAR DELAY	OFF	5MS
	improve the Surround Sound		TEST TONE
	effect. Choose 5MS (millisec-		CENTER DELAY TURNED OFF
	onds), 3MS, 2MS, 1MS or OFF
	(default). Use the longer delay
	settings when the Center
	speaker is closer to the listener
	than the Front speakers.
	● Choose REAR DELAY if
	your listening position is closer
	to the Rear speakers than the		DIGITAL OUTPUT
	Front (Left & Right) speakers.		NIGHT MODE
	Reset the Rear speaker delay		CENTER DELAY
	time (REAR DELAY) to improve		REAR DELAY
	the Surround Sound effect.		TEST TONE	OFF	15MS
	Choose 15MS (milliseconds),		REAR DELAY TURNED OFF
	12MS, 9MS, 6MS (default) or
	OFF.
	Use the longer delay settings
	when the Rear speakers are
	closer to the listener than
	the Front speakers.
	● Choose TEST TONE if you
	want to test the volume levels
	of all the speakers in the DVD		DIGITAL OUTPUT
	Home Cinema System. If you set		NIGHT MODE
	TEST TONE to ON, the test		CENTER DELAY
	sound signal will move through		REAR DELAY
	the Front Left, Center, Front		TEST TONE	OFF
				ON
	Right, Surround Right, and
			TEST TONE OFF
	Surround Left speakers. To stop
	the test sound signal, set
	TEST TONE to OFF. You must set
	TEST TONE to OFF before you can
	exit the System Menu and actually
	adjust the speakers’ volume.

5 Press SYSTEM MENU to remove the menu.

Helpful Hint

•During Disc playback, press SUBW (+, -), REAR (+, -), or CENTER (+, -) to adjust the sound levels of the correspond- ing speakers.
