General Problems

ProntoPro NG shuts off automatically

This is a timeout feature of ProntoPro NG to save power. You can change the time ProntoPro NG stays active in the Settings Tool.

See ‘Setting the Timeout of the LCD Screen’ on page 33 for more information.

The touch screen buttons on the ProntoPro NG do not respond properly

If the touch screen buttons on the ProntoPro NG do not respond properly, calibrate the touch screen.

See ‘Calibrating the Touch Screen’ on page 35 for more information.

Devices do not respond to commands from ProntoPro NG

Make sure the ProntoPro NG’s sending eye is pointed towards the device you are operating.

Check if the Low Battery icon has appeared on the screen. If so, place the ProntoPro NG in the docking station and recharge the battery pack.

Check if your device understands Philips-Marantz RC codes. Normally you can find this in the documentation of your device.

Make sure you have defined the correct brands for your devices. (p. 20)

Check if the button you are trying to use is assigned properly via Brand Tool or via Learn Tool. (p. 23)

Check if your device is in RF mode. Switch your device back to IR mode. (p. 52)

If you have set up your ProntoPro NG to operate devices with RF signals:

Check in the RF IR Tool if the devices you want to operate are set up properly. (p. 51)

Check if the Extender ID and the Channel ID on your ProntoPro NG match the Extender ID and the Channel ID on the RF Extender.

Make sure the RF Extender is placed near the devices you want to use with RF signals.

Make sure that the distance between the RF Extender and the ProntoPro NG is at least 1 meter.

Make sure that the RF Extender’s sending eye is pointed towards the device.

Change the Channel if you notice interferences from other RF channels.

If you want to use RF signals for devices on different locations, you need more than one RF Extender. See the User Guide of the RF Extender for more information.
