example,a programme currently being shown).
EIfyou want to start and stop a recording manually, read

EIfyou want to start a recording manually but have it
stoppedautomatically, read the section: ’Recording with
automaticswitch-off’.
EIfyou want a recording to be controlled automatically by
asatellite receiver, read the section entitled ’Automatic
recordingfrom a satellite receiver’.

Recording without automatic switch-off

aInserta cassette.
DThecassette is being checked. Wait until the search
symbolin the display has gone out. More
informationon the Tape Manager can be found in
thechapter ’The Tape Manager (TM)’.
bUsethe ;Por P=buttonto select the programme
number(or channel name) you want to record. On the
displayappears:
BBC1
DProgrammenumbers ’E1’ and ’E2’ are for recording
fromother sources (through scart sockets
EXT.1AV 1 and EXT.2 AV 2 ). Programme number ’E3
isfor recording from the front sockets.
DProgrammenumber ’AUX’ is provided for audio
recordingsvia sockets AUXINL R .
cTostart recording, press the RECORD/OTRnbuttonon the
remotecontrol or RECORDnonthe video recorder. On
thedisplay you will see:

dStoprecording with the STOPhbutton.

Recording with automatic switch-off

(OTR one-touch-recording)

aPuta cassette in the machine.
DThecassette is being checked. Wait until the search
symbolin the display has gone out.
bUsethe ;Por P=buttonto select the programme
number(channel name) you want to record.
cPressthe RECORD/OTRnbuttonon the remote control.
dPressthe RECORD/OTRnbuttonagain and again until the
displayon the video recorder shows the desired end time
orlength of the recording.
DTocancel this information, press the CLEAR(CL)
button.

Protecting your recordings

Sothat you don’t accidentally delete animportant recording,
removethe special tab on the narrow side of the cassette with
ascrewdriver or slide the special tab to the left. Later, if you
nolonger want to protect your recording, you can seal the gap
againwith sticky tape or slide the special tab to the right.

Auto-assembling

Youcan use the auto-assembling function to join individual
recordingswithout any major picture disturbance between
them.
aWhilethe cassette is playing, search for the correct
positionon the tape.
bStopthe cassette by pressing the STOPhbutton.
9’will appear in the display.
cNowstart recording as usual by pressing the
RECORD/OTRnbutton on the remote control.
