Theseare the basic steps necessar y to play a
CDwith your built-in CD player. More ad-
vancedCD operation is explained starting on
thispage.
1Tracknumber indicator
Showsthe track currently playing.
2Playtime indicator
Showsthe elapsed playing time of the cur-
renttrack.
1 PressSOURCE to select the built-in CD
player.
PressSOURCE until you see Compact Disc
displayed.
#Ifno disc is loaded in the unit, you cannot se-
lectCompact Disc (built-in CD player). Insert a
discin the unit. (Refer to page 13.)
2 Toperform fast forward or reverse,
pressand hold cor d.
#Ifyou select ROUGH SEARCH, pressing and
holdingcor denables you to search every 10
tracksin the current disc. (Refer to Selecting the
searchmethod on page 20.)
3 Toskip back or forward to another
track,press cor d.
Pressingdskips to the start of the next track.
Pressingconce skips to the start of the cur-
renttrack. Pressing again will skip to the pre-
vioustrack.

1Functiondisplay
Showsthe function status.
%PressFUNCTION to display the function
names.
PressFUNCTION repeatedly to switch be-
tweenthe following functions:
Repeat(repeat play)Random (random play)
Scan(scan play)Pause (pause)
Comp./BMX(compression and BMX)
FF/REV(search method)
#Toreturn to the playback display, press BAND.
Note
Ifyou do not operate the function within about 30
seconds,the display is automatically returned to
theplayback display.
Repeating play
Repeatplay lets you hear the same trackover
again.
1 PressFUNCTION to select Repeat.
PressFUNCTION until Repeat appears in the
display.
2 Presscor dto select the repeat range.
Presscor duntil the desired repeat range ap-
pearsin the display.
