Basic Operations

 

1Use MULTI-CONTROL to select Device info. in the function menu.

The device name (e.g., Pioneer BT unit) of this

unit appears in the display.

# You can edit the device name. Refer to Editing device name on page 47.

2Push MULTI-CONTROL left to switch to the BD address.

12-digit hexadecimal string is displayed.

# Pushing MULTI-CONTROL right returns to the device name.

If your cellular phone features Bluetooth wire- less technology, you can connect to this unit for hands-free, wireless calls, even while driving.

Important

!Since this unit is on standby to connect with your cellular phones via Bluetooth wireless technology, using this unit without running the engine can result in battery drainage.

!Advanced operations that require your atten- tion such as dialing numbers on the monitor, using phone book, etc., are prohibited while you are driving. When you need to use these advanced operations, stop your vehicle in a safe place and operate.

!When phone is selected as a source, no audio adjustments, except balance adjustment, are possible. The front/rear speaker balance is set to F 15 by default for the phone source.

These are the basic operations to use hands- free phoning via Bluetooth wireless technol- ogy. More advanced hands-free phoning op- erations are explained starting on Introduction of advanced operations on page 29.

 



1Device name

Shows the device name of the cellular phone.

2Signal level indicator

Shows the signal strength of cellular phone.

!Signal level indicator may differ from the actual signal level.

!If the signal level is not available, this in- dicator is not displayed.

3User number indicator
