Home theater sound setup

Place your speakers as shown below for optimal surround sound (see the Speaker Setup Guide for more placement tips).

Standard surround setup – This is a standard multichannel surround sound speaker setup for optimal 5.1 channel home theater sound.

Depending on the size and characteristics of your room, you can choose to use the following

Front surround setup – This setup is ideal when rear surround speaker placement isn't possible or you want to avoid running long speaker cables in your listening area.

Using the Auto MCACC setup for optimal surround sound

The Multichannel Acoustic Calibration (MCACC) system measures the acoustic characteristics of your listening area, taking into account ambient noise and testing for channel delay and channel level. After you have set up the microphone provided with your system, the receiver uses the information from a series of test tones to optimize the speaker settings and equalization (Acoustic Calibration
