Using the SoundPoint IP 600 SIP Phone

Place a Call

Users can al ternate bet ween handse t, headset, o r hands-fre e by pressi ng the or k eys,
or picking up the handset.

Using the Handset

. Pick up the hands et to obtain a dial tone.
. Dial the number.
–or–
. Dial the SIP URL /IP address (i.e., 0..0., joe@0.7.., sip: jane@ polycom.com).
. Press Name afte r obtaining the di al tone.
. Enter the URL or IP ( press * for “.” and # for “@”).
. Press Send to com plete the call.

Using the Hands-Free Speakerphone

. Press any assign ed line key, or NewCa ll to obtain a dial tone wi th the handset on-h ook.
. Dial the number.
–or–
. Dial by SIP, URL, or IP addre ss.

Using the Headset

. Press any assign ed line key, or NewCa ll to get a dial tone with th e headset connec ted.
. Dial the number.
–or–
. Dial the SIP URL o r IP address.
Note: You can dial directl y from the dial pad w ithout getting a di al tone first. Enter th e number then lif t
the handset, press the D ial softkey, or press th e or keys.

Answer a Call

After answering a ca ll, it appears on th e display showing th e duration and dest ination.
. Pick up the hands et.

. Press to answer w ith the speakerph one.
–or–
. Press the line key wi th the active indic ator (with the handse t on the hook).
–or–
. Press the Answe r softkey (with the hand set on the hook).
–or–
. Press to answer t hrough your connec ted headset.
Note: You can ignore inco ming calls by press ing the Reject sof tkey or whil e the phone is
ringing. Do Not Distur b remains active af ter the call is drop ped until you toggle i t off.
