MANUAL MODE AND THE QUICKSTART KEY

Manual mode (C956i and C954i) lets you control the incline and running belt speed which affects the effort you put into your workout. As with other programs, when you complete the time limit set for the program, the automatic cool-down period begins.

You can choose Manual mode in two different ways:

pressing the QUICKSTART key at the Precor banner. QUICKSTART bypasses the remaining selections and starts the Manual program. Default values include a time limit set by the Club, a weight value of 150 lbs. (68 kg.) and an age of zero. The SmartRate display is inactive.

pressing ENTER at the Precor banner. This causes the C954i or C956i to display several setup prompts. At the program prompt, you select #1 — Manual program.

The Manual program profile appears as a flat line. Use the ▼▲ keys or the numeric keys to adjust the incline or speed. (See pages 33 and 34 for more information on the different key’s function.) As you proceed with your workout, a blinking cell represents your position on the program.

C956i TRACK COURSE

The C956i Track course presents an oval as the program profile. The “lap” count appears on the inside of the oval and a blinking segment indicates your position on the track. One loop around the track represents 440 yards (¼ mile) or 400 meters.

You can continue (counterclockwise) around the track for the duration of the course (which can be limited by the club). The lap count that appears represents the number of laps completed, plus the one that your on.

PROGRAMS WITH PRESET INCLINES

In the preset programs, such as the C954i Cross Country program or the C956i Aerobic programs, the incline is predetermined. You can make changes to the running belt speed throughout the program and even the preset incline can be overridden.
