Q. What kind of cameraS should I buy for this DVR?
A. Any BNC or RCA interface indoor/outdoor/infrared camera will work with the DVR. It doesn’t matter
whether it’s a color or black/white camera. However web cameras that require a USB interface are not
compatible with the DVR.
Q. What kind of alarm device should I buy for DVR?
A. Most sound alarms are compatible with our DVR.
Q. I can’t turn on DVR.
A. Make sure that the power cord is plugged in correctly and the power light on DVR front panel is on.
Q. I see nothing but a blue screen after I turn on the DVR.
A. Check the camera input and video output connection on the DVR back panel. If you can’t find any
problem with these connections, check whether the camera’s power cable is firmly connected. Make
sure the system format for NTSC and PAL is correct.
Q. Can I prevent other people from stopping the recording while I am gone?
A. If the DVR is in schedule or recording mode set password to “on” in menu setup, no one can
change the setting unless he has the right password.
Q. How can I erase all data on the hard disk drive?
A. Select the “HDD Format Set” option in the menu.
Q. Can my desktop PC read the video data on hard drive in the DVR?
A. Yes, you can use the PC Viewer software to read all video data on the hard drive.
Q. What happens if I install my PC hard drive into the DVR?
A. You can use a PC hard drive in the DVR. However once it runs in the DVR it will delete any PC
operating system and files on the hard drive.
Q. What kind of hard drive should I purchase to use in the DVR?
A. Any PC compatible IDE, ATA hard drive with a capacity of 500GB or less will work.
Q. Does this DVR come with a remote control either hardwire or wireless?
A. Yes, there is a remote control with the DVR.
