Recording Problems

The VCR will not record

Make sure there is a tape in the VCR.

Try ejecting, then reinserting the tape.

Check to make sure the tape is not damaged or broken.

Make sure the VCR is not in Pause mode. Press the remote control’s PAUSE or PLAY button to return to normal playback.

Make sure the Pro-Tect Plus feature is not activated (press and hold the STOP button on the remote control or VCR front panel for several seconds until SAFE disappears from the front panel).

If unable to record, make sure the safety tab on the tape is in place.

A timer recording didn’t record or the wrong program recorded

Make sure any connected cable box or satellite receiver was turned on when the recording time began.

Make sure the program information was entered correctly (i.e. channel number and start/stop times).

A power interruption may have occurred. Reset the time and date and try again.

Time (including AM or PM) and date information may be incorrect.

Make sure the timer program did not exceed the tape’s length and that the tape was cued correctly.

Make sure the VCR was turned off when recording started.

Make sure there was a tape in the VCR and that its safety tab was in place.

The VCR ejects a tape when its end is reached during a timer recording.
