AE Metering v/A1

Choose the part of the sensor to use for measuring brightness and determining exposure.

Set in the control panel or		AE Metering

	Meters the brightness in multiple different
A Multi-	zones of the sensor.
segment	In backlit locations, this mode automatically
	adjusts exposure.
	Meters the brightness with an emphasis on
B Center-	the center of the sensor.
	The sensitivity increases at the center and

	no automatic adjustment is performed even
	in backlit conditions.
	Meters the brightness only within a limited
C Spot	area at the center of the sensor.
	Useful when the subject is small.

1 Press C in standby mode.

2 Select a flash mode.
				Auto Flash Discharge
				0.0
				Cancel		OK
	A Auto Flash		Automatically measures the ambient light and
		Discharge	determines whether to use the flash.
		Auto Flash	Discharges a pre-flash for red-eye reduction
	B +Red-eye
			before an automatic flash.
		Reduction
	C	Flash On	Discharges a flash for each picture.
		Flash	Discharges a pre-flash for red-eye reduction
	D On+Red-eye		before the main flash and discharges a flash
		Reduction	for each picture.
	E Slow-speed		Sets to a slow shutter speed.
			Use this, for example, when shooting a portrait
		Sync	with the sunset in the background.
		Slow-speed	Discharges a pre-flash for red-eye reduction
	F Sync+Red-		before the main flash is discharged with Slow-
		eye	speed Sync.
			Discharges a flash immediately before closing
	H Trailing		the shutter.
			Sets to a slow shutter speed.
	G Curtain Sync
			Captures moving objects as if they are leaving
			a light trail behind them.

KManual Flash Sets the amount of flash discharge between Discharge FULL and 1/128 power.
