Monitoring OSPF OSPF Configuration Guide
14.10 MONITORING OSPF
The Riverstone RS Switch Router provides two different command sets to display the various OSPF tables:
ospf monitor commands allow you to display the OSPF tables for the router on which the
commands are being entered, as well as for other remote Riverstone RS Switch Routers running
OSPF. The ospf monitor commands can be used to display a concise version of the various OSPF
tables. All of the ospf monitor commands accept a destination option. This option is only
required to display the OSPF tables of a remot e Riverstone RS Switch Router.
ospf show commands allow you to display detailed versions of the various OSPF tables. The ospf
show commands can only display OSPF tables for the router on which the commands are being
entered.
Following are some examples of the ospf monitor and ospf show commands.
Following is an example of the ospf monitor interfaces command. Information reported includes the area ID,
interface IP address, interface type, interface state, cost, priority, and IP addresses of the designated router and backup
designated router for the network
Following is an example of the ospf show areas all command. It displays information about the interfaces in the
area and the area’s link state database
