Editing
■ Once a disc is finalized, you cannot delete

entries from the record list.

■ Once a DVD±R/DVD-RW (video mode)disc

is finalized, it is playable in a standard DVD

player.

■ Depending on disc type, the displayed

screen may appear slightly different.

■ Finalizing time may be different depending

on the amount of data recorded on the disc.

■ Data on the disc will be damaged if the

recorder is powered off during finalizing

process.

■ You can finalize automatically using EZ REC

MODE.(See page 47)

NOTE
Edit Compatible
For DVD+RW discs, this function needs to be
performed in order to view edited chapters or titles
on a standard DVD player.

With the unit in Stop mode, press the MENU button
on the remote control.

Press the …† buttons to select Disc Manager, and
then press the ENTER or √button.

Press the …† buttons to select Edit Compatible,
and then press the ENTER or √button.
You will be prompted with the confirmation message
'Do you want to execute Edit compatible?
This may take more than an hour depending on the
configuration.'.

Press the œ√buttons to select Yes, and then press
the ENTER button.
The Edit Compatible process will start.

After performing Edit Compatible, you can move

to the title menu of the disc by pressing the Title

MENUbutton.

Finalizing a Disc
After you record titles onto a DVD-RW/DVD-R disc with
your DVD recorder, it needs to be finalized before it can
be played back on external devices.
