INSTALLATION AND SE T U P
Please review the safety precautions at the front of this manual, then follow the directions in this chapter to connect your machine and set it up for use.
Choosing a Location
To help guarantee
l It is not in direct sunlight or in excessive humidity.
l It is not too close to heating or air conditioning vents.
l Its ventilation openings aren’t blocked.
l It is at least 4 inches away from other objects.
l Its cords won’t get in the way.
l It won’t be easily knocked off a table or dropped.
l Liquids won‘t be spilled on it.
Making the Connections

Connect the coiled handset cord.

Connect the telephone line.
4 Plug the coiled handset cord into the HANDSET socket on the left side of the machine.
4 Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL. LINE socket, and the other end into a telephone wall jack.

Connect an extension phone or answering machine if desired.
