Центровзвешенный

Врежиме центровзвешенного экспозамера вычисляется более обширная область, чем в режиме точечного. В этом режиме суммируется количество света в центральной части кадра (60—80 %) и в остальной части снимка (20—40 %).

Он рекомендуется, когда объект и фон незначительно различаются по яркости либо область объекта сопоставима по размерам с общей композицией снимка.

Точечный

Врежиме точечного экспозамера вычисляется количество света в центре. При съемке в условиях сильной встречной засветки камера регулирует экспозицию во избежание нежелательных эффектов на снимке. Например, при выборе в таких условиях режима матричного экспозамера камера определяет, что общее количество света избыточно, и делает более темный снимок. Режим точечного экспозамера предотвращает эту ситуацию, поскольку в нем вычисляется количество света в заданной области.

Пример: яркий объект на темном фоне. Режим точечного экспозамера рекомендуется для подобных ситуаций, когда разница в экспозиции между объектом и фоном очень велика.
