Solving Problems

If you are experiencing problems with your phone, perform the following simple checks before contacting a service professional. This may save you the time and expense of an unnecessary service call.

When you switch your phone on, the following messages may appear:

Insert SIM Card

Check that the SIM card is correctly installed.

Phone Locked Enter Password

The automatic locking function has been enabled. You must enter the phone’s password before you can use the phone. The factory preset code is "00000000".

Enter PIN

You are using your phone for the first time. You must enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) supplied with the SIM card.

The PIN Check feature is enabled. Every time the phone is switched on, the PIN has to be entered. To disable this feature, use the PIN Check menu (Menu 9.7.1).

Enter PUK

The PIN code was entered incorrectly three times in succession and the phone is now blocked. Enter the PUK supplied by your service provider. There is a PUK1 and a PUK2 code. Please make sure you know which one is locked and apply the correct PUK code.

“No service,” “Network failure” or “Not done” displays

The network connection was lost. You may be in a weak signal area (in a tunnel or surrounded by buildings). Move and try again.
