Continue reinserting the tool and prying the screen and the back cover apart at close intervals around the device.
Rotate the back cover carefully and ensure that the hooks are not damaged.
When the screen is disengaged, separate the screen and the back cover.
Then, put the back cover aside and place the screen face down on a flat work surface.

Loosen and remove the four screws from the battery.
Disconnect the battery connector and remove the tape.
Remove the battery by pulling the pull tab upwards.
Do not use any tools other than the pull tab when removing the battery. Doing so may damage the battery.
