Structure of folders and files on the storage media

•The folder and fi le structure for built-in memory (8GB (SMX-F33BN/LN/RN/SN only)/16GB (SMX-F34BN/LN/RN/ SN only)) or memory card is as follows.

•Don’t arbitrarily change or remove the folder or fi le name. It may not be playable.

Movie Images (H.264) ①

The SD-quality movie images are named as “SDV_####.MP4” and Web movie images are named as “WEB_####.MP4”. The fi le number automatically increases when a new movie image fi le is created. Up to 9999 fi les are created in one folder. A new folder is created when more than 9999th fi les are created.

Photo Images ②

As in movie image fi les, the fi le number automatically increases when a new image

file is created. The maximum fi le number allowed is the same as in movie image

files. A new folder stores fi les from CAM_0001.JPG. The folder name increases in the order of 100PHOTO Š 101PHOTO etc. Up to 9999 fi les are created in one folder. A new folder is created when more than 9999th fi les are created.

Image format

Movie Images

•Movie images are compressed in H.264 format. The fi le extension is ".MP4."

•The image size is 720X480(60i) or 640x480(WEB). ➥page 66

Photo Images

•Photo images are compressed in JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) format. The fi le extension is ".JPG."

•The image size is 800x600.

•When the 9999th fi le is created in the 999th folder (i.e. SDV_9999.MP4 is created in the 999 VIDEO folder), a new folder cannot be created anymore. Backup your fi les to a PC and format the storage media, and then reset fi le numbering from the menu.

•We don't recommend you to modify the name of a fi le/folder stored in the storage media using a PC. If you modify it, this memory camcorder may not recognize modifi ed fi les.

•You can use your memory camcorder as a mass storage device. So you can store general data in the storage media of the memory camcorder.

• The photo image is taken only in the 4:3 aspect ratio.
