2. Touch the Roaming Mode field and touch one of the
following options:
Automatic to seek service on the Sprint National
Network. When Sprint service is unavailable, the
device searches for an alternate system.
Sprint Only to access the Nationwide Sprint PCS
Network only and prevent roaming on other
networks.

Using Call Guard

Your device has two ways of alerting you when you are
roaming off the Sprint National Network, the onscreen
roaming icon and Call Guard. Call Guard makes it easy
to manage your roaming by requiring an extra step
before you can place or answer a roaming call. (This
additional step is not required when you make or
receive calls while on the Sprint National Network.)
To turn Call Guard on or off:
1. Press and touch Main () > Settings >
Roaming.
2. Move the Call Guard slider to the On or Off position.
To place roaming calls with Call Guard on:
1. Press and touch Dialer ().
2. Enter + area code + seven digit number and
touch where the phone number now
appears.
3. Touch Roam Call.
To answer incoming roaming calls with Call Guard on:
Touch to answer an incoming call. (A
message will be displayed notifying you that
roaming charges will apply.)
Note Call Guard is turned off by default on your device.
Voice dialing and speed dialing are not available
when you are roaming with Call Guard enabled.
Note If the Call Guard feature is set to On, you need to take
extra steps to make and receive roaming calls.
