Speech to Action

Section 2H. Speech to Action 89

Making a Call

1. Press on the side of your device. You will hear
a prompt.
2. Follow the voice prompts and recite the entry’s
voice dial tag into the microphone.

Calling Contacts Entries

1. Press on the side of your device. You will hear
a prompt.
2. Say “Call” followed by the name and the label for
the phone number you wish to call. For example,
say “Call John Mobile.” The device dials the number
stored for the contact “John” with the label “Mobile.”
If the location is not recognized or the name does not
have a phone number stored in Contacts, your device
will play the message “No match found,” and then return
you to the previous screen.
If a name has only a single number, or if you know the
name but are not sure which number to call, say “Call
followed by the name only. For example, say “Call John.”
If the name is recognized and there is only one phone
number for the name, your device immediately places
the call.
If there are multiple numbers stored for the contact, the
device prompts you with “Which Number?” and displays
a list of options. You can select an option by saying it or
by touching the corresponding phone number
onscreen.
Tip Record voice dial tags in a quiet environment and
without the aid of an accessory (for example, a
headset or hands-free car kit).
Note If the device does not hear a command within
approximately eight seconds, it deactivates voice
recognition without taking any action.
