Connecting to an AV Device

Using an HDMI or HDMI/DVI cable: HD connection (up to 1080p)
Available devices: DVD, Blu-ray player, HD cable box, HD STB (Set-Top-Box) satellite receiver, cable box, satellite receiver

When using an HDMI/DVI cable con nection, you must use the HDMI IN 1(DVI) ja ck for video. A DVD, Blu-ray
player, HD cable box, HD STB satellite receiver, cable box, or STB s atellite receiver may require a DVI-H DMI
(DVI to HDMI) cable or DVI-HDMI (DVI to HDMI) ada pter. The PC/DVI AUDIO IN jack is required for au dio.

If an external device such as a DVD / Blu- ray player / cable box / STB satellite rece iver supporting a HDMI
versions older than 1.3 is connected, the T V may operate abnormally (e.g. no scree n display / no sound /
annoying flicker / abnormal co lour).

If there is no sound after connectin g an HDMI cable, check the HDMI ve rsion of the external device. If yo u
suspect the version is older than 1.3, contac t the provider of the device to confir m the HDMI version and
request an upgrade.

It is recommended you purchase an H DMI-certified cabl e. Otherwise, the screen may ap pear blank or a
connection error may occur.
Using a Component (up to 1080p) or Audio/Video (480i only) and Scart Cable

In Ext. mode, DTV Out supports MPEG SD Vide o and Audio only.
To obtain the best picture quality, the Component c onnection is recommend ed over the A/V connecti on.
