Kui teil on dünaamiline võrk, peaksite kasutama ADSL-modemit või -ruuterit, mis toetab DHCP-protokolli (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). DHCP-d toetavad modemid ja ruuterid pakuvad automaatselt teie telerile internetiga ühendamiseks vajalikud IP-aadressi, alamvõrgumaski, lüüsi ja DNSi väärtused, nii et te ei pea neid käsitsi sisestama. Enamus koduseid võrke on dünaamilised.

Mõned võrgud nõuavad staatilist IP-aadressi. Kui teie võrk nõuab staatilist IP-aadressi, peate võrguühenduse seadistamisel sisestama IP-aadressi, alamvõrgumaski, lüüsi ja DNSi väärtused teleri võrguseadistusekraanil käsitsi. IP- aadressi, alamvõrgumaski, lüüsi ja DNSi väärtuste hankimiseks võtke ühendust oma internetiteenuse pakkuja ehk ISP-ga. Kui teil on Windowsiga arvuti, võite need väärtused saada ka arvuti kaudu.

✎✎ Kui teie võrk nõuab staatilist IP-aadressi, võite kasutada ADSL-modemit, mis toetab DHCP-d. DHCP-d toetavad ADSL-modemid võimaldavad kasutada staatilisi IP-aadresse.
