The Intelligent Motion Detector enables reliable and accurate motion detection by analyzing the magnitude of movement and the size of object from changes in picture brightness. When a moving object is detected, SANYO's camera can send an alarm signal via SSP or network and/or switch to the optical zoom mode that can be preset either to 1.0x, 1.4x, 2.0x, or 2.6x zoom.

With a vari-focal lens, objects that are in front of or behind the focus point are blurred. To eliminate this problem, a new technology was developed to increase the depth of field so that everything in the field of view is in focus at the same time. SANYO has been one of the leaders in the development of this technology and has successfully commercialized the 2.6x pan-focus lens that offers an image with greater depth of field. The new lens makes it possible to capture a clear image of objects in the background.
