VDC-W1595VP, VDC-D1585VP, and VDC-C1575VP are all designed to fight off dust and water. The IP66 compliant package makes them suitable for outdoor installation at locations exposed to wind and rain. Of course, this does not prohibit the use for indoor applications.

Wide dynamic range for clear images of high-contrast subjects (VDC-W1595VP)

When using a conventional camera, monitoring of windows, doors and other strongly backlit areas can result in featureless blacks and transparent whites. With the newly developed wide-dynamic-range technology, however, two shutter speeds, one normal (1/50) and the other high speed, are employed to record clearer images of the subject by extracting highlights and shadows from the two shots and then combining them into a single detailed image.
