The switch of the cubicle on which the mechanical blown fuse indicator is to be installed must be in earthed position and the operating mechanism discharged. Similarly, the busbars and cables must be de-energised.

If the operating mechanism is motorised, make sure that the LV auxiliary circuits have been disconnected.

Note : from the new version of october 97 t is useless putting away the roof to assemble the new device, the busbar can be energised

Schneider Electric SM6 manual Généralités general, Règles de diffusion concerning this document

SM6 specifications

Schneider Electric's SM6 is a robust and innovative medium-voltage switchgear solution designed for modern electrical distribution systems. Renowned for its reliability and safety, the SM6 is particularly suited for utility companies and large industrial applications. It plays a crucial role in managing, controlling, and protecting electrical networks while facilitating efficient energy distribution.

One of the standout features of the SM6 is its compact and modular design. This makes installation straightforward and space-efficient, allowing utilities to optimize their infrastructure without compromising performance. The switchgear is available in various voltage ratings typically ranging from 12kV to 24kV, catering to diverse application needs.

The SM6 incorporates advanced technology such as the "SIT" (Schneider Integrated Technology) for circuit breakers. This technology enhances operational efficiency and improves the overall reliability of the switchgear. The use of vacuum circuit breakers minimizes maintenance needs and increases the lifespan of the equipment. Additionally, the SM6 utilizes the latest in insulation technology, with a choice of either air or gas insulation systems, contributing to reduced environmental impact and operational safety.

Safety is a top priority within the SM6 design. The switchgear features a metal-enclosed structure that protects against external influences and potential hazards, while the internal arc classification ensures maximum protection for personnel and equipment. The design also emphasizes operator safety with various interlocks and visual indicators, providing clear operating statuses.

Another key aspect of the SM6 is its integration capabilities. The switchgear is designed to be compatible with advanced monitoring and control systems for smart grid applications. With options for remote monitoring, diagnostics, and automation, customers can achieve enhanced visibility and control over their electrical distribution systems, allowing for predictive maintenance and reduced downtime.

Beyond its technical specifications, the SM6 is designed with sustainability in mind. The use of eco-friendly insulating mediums, along with its energy efficiency features, aligns with Schneider Electric's commitment to promoting greener technologies in the electrical landscape. In summary, the Schneider Electric SM6 is a highly versatile, efficient, and safe medium-voltage switchgear solution that addresses the challenges of modern energy distribution, making it an ideal choice for utilities and industrial sectors seeking reliability and innovation.
