What Are the Requirements for Ethernet Network Devices?
How Many Ethernet Network Devices Can I Connect?
The Scientific Atlanta cable modem can support several Ethernet network devices using external Ethernet hubs that must be purchased separately.
The theoretical maximum number of Ethernet network devices supported by the cable modem is 63. However, under normal circumstances, the number of devices connected should be a much lower number.
Contact your service provider for more information on the maximum number of Ethernet network devices to connect to your cable modem to maintain optimal network performance.
What Are the Wiring Requirements for Ethernet Networking?
A number of factors can impact the practical limit of the network. Although the cable modem is designed to support several Ethernet network devices, it is important to view the characteristics of the entire network and not just each individual node.
