Select Operating Features
If your new drive replaces an existing drive, you must set up
the new drive to operate as the old drive did. Check the docu-
mentation for your old drive to see how the drive was set to
operate. Look at Figure 3d or 3e. Normally, you should leave
off the "Delay Motor Start", "Enable Motor Start," "Write Pro-
tect", "Parity Disable" and "Term power to SCSI Bus" jumpers.
A jumper on means the feature is enabled, except for "Parity
Disable," where a jumper on means that parity checking is dis-
abled. Only "Terminator Enable" and "Term Power from drive"
jumper positions should have a jumper on ("N" and "W" mod-
els only). Do not remove these two default jumpers or add jump-
ers to any of the other jumper positions mentioned above un-
less your computer system documentation indicates otherwise.
The factory installed default settings are generally always cor-
rect.
