OPERATION
The operation of any lawn mower can result in foreign objects thrown in the eyes, which can result in severe eye damage Always wear safety glasses or eye shields before starting your lawn
mower and while mowing We recommend the Wide Vision Safety Mask for over the spectacles
or standard safety glasses, available at Sears Retail or Catalog Stores
HOW TO USE THE MOWER
HOW TO SET THE PARKING BRAKE
1Completely push the clutch/brake pedal forward
2Lift the parking brake lever
3Remove your foot from the clutch/brake pedal and then
release the parking brake lever Make sure the parking brake will hold the unit
To release the parking brake, completely push the
clutch/brake pedal forward The parking brake will
automatically release
WARNING: Before you leave the operator's
position Set the parking brake Move the blade
position, move the shift lever to the neutral (N)
engagement control to the DISENGAGE posffion Stop the engine and remove the ignition key
HOW TO STOP THE UNIT
1Push the pedal completely forward to stop the unit Keep your foot on the pedal
2Move the blade engagement control to the DISENGAGE position
3Move the shift lever to the NEUTRAL position
4Set the parking brake
5Move the throttie control to the SLOW position
6To stop the engine turn the ignition key to the OFF position Remove the key
HOW TO USE THE SHIFT LEVER
CAUTION: Before you move the shift lever, completely push
the clutch/brake pedal forward to stop the unit If the unit is not stopped, the transaxle can be damaged
1Completely push the clutch,brake pedal forward to stop the unit Keep your foot on the pedal
2Move the throttle control lever to the SLOW position
3To move the shift lever to NEUTRAL from a forward gear. pull the shift lever back and then to the left until the lever goes past the tab
4To move the shift lever to a forward gear from NEUTRAL pull the lever to theleh Then push the lever forward
5Slowly release the clutch, brake pedal Do not keep your foot on the pedal
6Move the throttle comrol ;o the FAST position
7To move the shift lever to REVERSE stop the unit Move the shift lever to the NEUTRAL position First move the shift lever to the right until the shift lever stop clears the shift gate. and then move back to REVERSE
NOTE: Belt noise can occur when the clutch is engaged. This
noise is normal and does not affect the operation | of the unit |
